AURORA -- With his petitions filed, State Sen. Chris Lauzen today launched the third generation of www.Lauzen.com.  Use of the Web is not a new phenomenon for Lauzen's campaign.  What has changed is the way his campaign is utilizing it. 

"One of my main priorities as State Senator is remaining in touch and responsive to the constituents I represent," said Lauzen.  "The new Web site opens up several meaningful communication channels for constituents to share their thoughts, submit questions, and hear back from me on issues of public policy and political interest."

The improved www.Lauzen.com includes features like blogging and podcasting, which capitalize on an online revolution that is reshaping the way candidates communicate and interact with voters.  As campaigns strive to break down communication barriers between the voters and those who serve them, www.Lauzen.com allows voters to connect with Lauzen as never before.  "Blogging and podcasting have brought new people into the political process by giving them a platform to launch ideas into the political universe.  I look forward to participating in discussions and debates through the blog and podcast on important issues facing our state and communities," said Lauzen.

The launch of www.Lauzen.com occurred shortly after Sen. Lauzen filed the necessary paperwork with the Illinois State Board of Elections to run for re-election in the 25th State Senate District.  "I want to thank more than 80 volunteers who circulated petitions on my behalf and the 1,500 plus voters who signed my petition," said Lauzen.  "To file for re-election with such an outpouring of support is energizing and humbling."

Lauzen will formally announce his intentions to seek re-election at a campaign rally in early 2006.
