ACTIVATOR, the political involvement arm of Illinois Farm Bureau, has awarded its Friend of Agriculture designation and award to State Senator Chris Lauzen of Aurora. Lauzen was recognized recently for this achievement at the Kane County Farm Bureau's Harvest Picnic.
Lauzen, a Republican, represents citizens in the 25th Senate District which includes most of Kane and Kendall counties and a portion of LaSalle County. He serves on the Senate Revenue (Minority Spokesperson); Sen. Comm. Whole; Approp I; Approp II; Appropriations III and Property Tax Reform (Sub-Minority Spokesperson) Committees.
Lauzen was first elected to the Illinois General Assembly in 1993. To qualify for Friend of Agriculture, an incumbent must achieve at least a 60% voting record on key issues selected by Farm Bureau.
Lauzen's Farm Bureau voting record in 2005-06 was 73.68%.
"I think he's represented the interests of Illinois farmers extremely well," said Kane County Farm Bureau governmental affairs committee chairman Steve Pitstick. "We've always found Chris to be very responsive to us when we've wanted to speak to him about any issue in the district or in Springfield."
ACTIVATOR, Illinois Agricultural Association's Political Involvement Fund, is a voluntary, non-profit, segregated fund intended to promote the economic and social well being of farmers. ACTIVATOR trustees are county Farm Bureau leaders representing each county in the district.
